Now this may appear incredibly standard - I can hear you now 'Why do we care about your day trip to the seaside?' But for people with a double buggy nothing is easy! Any which way I can give a heads up or give guidance/ help to parents before they go out and try a day trip somewhere with 2 under 2 I will!

We decided to take a trip out to the seaside - the first bit of warmth and sunshine we'd had in March and we were out as fast as a family four can get out!
Now as you parents of little ones know, there's no such thing any more as just jumping in the car! A 'quick trip' is like a bloody mission! But, last Sunday we were not daunted by the risk of missing nap time, or breastfeeding outside in the wind - we were desperate to escape the house for a day! So, with the nappy bag packed up to the rafters and the lunch box exploding with Melty Puffs and Peppa PIg yogurt - we were off!
It takes about 30 minutes to get to Sea Palling from Norwich CIty Centre. The roads on a Sunday in March were blissful - no traffic and blue skies - radio on - both babies asleep in the back - GET IN!
We parked up in the village of Sea Palling, because if you park there its free and its only a 5 minute walk to the sea front, with full pavements so great for a buggy. We took our 'Out n About' double buggy, its a three wheeler and they sit side by side, its great for days out. We were able to walk it all the way onto the beach, and as the sand was fairly wet, it was e and therefore compact it was easy for us to walk the buggy along the seafront. It was a little windy so I do wish Id remembered the rain covers! But #mumlife you'll always forget something when packing the car up for 4! So I was pleased it was sunny! Thank F right?!?
The seafront was beautifully clean. The lifeboat practice was happening when we arrived and Ragnar loved watching them jump out of the boats and all the splashing about. There are lots of lovely shells and rocks to look at, and I saw no dog poop or litter for our whole walk. Although there were plenty of dogs running around and hardly any on leads. Not that it bothers us, but I know that it is something people can find tricky with toddlers walking about, so just giving an honest heads up! Rags was able to walk all over the beach as it was safe and there weren't many big rocks or anything he could hurt himself on.
We then headed back to the car park area, where there were amusements, a fish and chip shop (that was closed due to out of season and a Sunday) and a sandwich café - they had no high chairs at all in the café , so couldn’t have our lunch there, so after we'd squeezed the buggy in, we had to squeeze our way out again -not so great - as trying to eat with a 20 month old on your lap is an absolute no go! Apparently they had no high chairs as they were waiting for new ones to be delivered for the summer season.
But the owners of the pizza/ carvery/ bar on the corner were so kind, and opened up the big double side door for us to get into the restaurant with the buggy, and we were able to enjoy our lunch in there, out of the wind - sand free. Smashing!
I really recommend it for a day trip out for all the family - I wish we'd taken the dogs too as everywhere was so dog friendly. It was so clean, and so lovely for Ragnar to explore - I just cant wait to go back when its warmer!
